UC provides Short-Term Disability insurance, Supplemental Disability insurance and UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) disability benefits to eligible employees. These benefits, in conjunction with state-mandated Workers' Compensation and Social Security disability benefits, create a comprehensive safety net to protect employees from loss of wages over the course of a disability period.

Plan Costs
Currently, UC pays the entire cost of the Short-Term Disability Plan and Workers' Compensation. Your cost for the Supplemental Disability plan coverage depends on your monthly salary, age, and choice of waiting period. Use your age and monthly salary as of January 1 of the current year and the calculator to figure your monthly premium.

Terminating Enrollment
If you leave UC employment or retire, you are no longer eligible for the UC-sponsored Short-Term, Supplemental or UCRP Disability plans. Coverage ends on your last day actively at work.
